Appointed positions open

The Town of Starksboro has many opportunities for community members who are interested in volunteering and serving on committees and as regional delegates. The Selectboard will consider 2024 appointments at their regular meetings on 3/20 and 4/2.

Town Report 2022-23

The Starksboro Town Report for 2022-23 is now available. You can read an electronic copy on this website or you may request a printed copy from the Town Clerk. Copies are also available at the town office, library, and the Jerusalem Country Store.

Energy Corner

The Button Up campaign runs annually each fall, building awareness about the benefits of weatherization by serving up valuable tips, resources, and learning opportunities to Vermonters across the state.

Online payments

Looking to pay for a bill, permit, or license online? We are excited to now offer credit card processing for anyone who wishes to pay for a municipal fee. 

All local fees can now be paid online or in-person at the town office with your credit card. There is a processing fee that is based on the amount you are paying. Once you enter information on the item you wish to pay for, the amount of the fee will be displayed prior to finalizing your transaction. If you have any questions, please contact Amy or Rebecca for assistance. 

Townwide Reappraisal

The Town of Starksboro has contracted with NEMRC (New England Municipal Resource Center) to complete a Town Wide Reappraisal for the 2024 Grand List.  The purpose of the Town Wide Reappraisal is to update all property data and calculate new Fair Market Values reflected as of 4/1/2024.  This will be a 2-year project.  The staff from NEMRC start the field work in 2022 and have continued throughout 2023.

Dog licenses

Please ensure you have registered your dogs with the town office no later than April 1, 2024.  If you need assistance, please contact Amy at 802-453-2639. 

Fees now due: $15 per dog

Fees after 4/1/24: $20/per dog 

Cota Field Pavilion

The Cota Recreation Field and area is a treasured asset for the Town of Starksboro and we encourage residents to enjoy the nature trail and access to Lewis Creek. If you are interested in reserving the pavilion for a private gathering, please contact Amy at the Town Clerk's office. She can provide details on use of the space and ensure availability.

Creekside Trail

Take a look at the full map of the Creekside Trail. The trail is open to the public and parking is available at the Cota field area near where the trail begins.

Public Library

The Starksboro Public Library is open to the public. Visit the library website for more details. 

Hours: Mon 10 - 6 |  Thurs 10 - 5 | Sat 9 - 2

WIFI is available 24/7 outside the building in the municipal parking area.
