Save the Date! Community Forum on Housing in Starksboro
The Planning Commission wants your input on housing! Join us at the Robinson School on Saturday November 7, 2026, from 10am to 12pm to take part in a forum to craft a strategy to address an issue that we know is important to many of you: how do we meet our housing needs? The choices we make will impact the health and resilience of our community. The town is in the early stages of revisiting the Town Plan. Your participation is vital. Help us fill the room!
The session will begin with a brief presentation that outlines the current state of housing in Starksboro and Addison County, as well as a high-level overview of some common affordable-housing models. With this background, participants will join breakout groups for discussion of two questions, each intended to generate ideas that will be realistic for the town’s scale and setting, while simultaneously representing our community values. The groups will be facilitated to ensure all voices are heard and all input will be recorded. The forum will end with a brief sharing of key insights. Starksboro resident and innovative housing entrepreneur, Kevin Harper, will bring his perspective to the results.
Stay tuned for more information in the coming days, along with a little “homework” to get the wheels turning and ideas flowing.
