The Town of Starksboro is currently seeking qualified and community-minded individuals to fill the following important roles:

1. Zoning Administrator

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as Starksboro’s Zoning Administrator. This is a key position responsible for reviewing zoning applications, interpreting the town’s zoning regulations, and assisting the public with permitting and development questions. This role works closely with the Planning Commission and other town officials. Experience with land use, planning, or municipal regulations is preferred but not required—training is available.

2. Animal Control Officer

This part-time, on-call position is perfect for someone who cares about animals and community safety. The Animal Control Officer is responsible for enforcing the town’s Animal Control Ordinance, responding to complaints, issuing citations, and educating the public. Pay is $15/hour, plus mileage, expenses, and a stipend. A calm demeanor, strong communication skills, and comfort working with animals are essential.

3. Cemetery Commissioner (Appointed Position)

We are also seeking to appoint a new Cemetery Commissioner. This volunteer role is vital to preserving the dignity, upkeep, and historical significance of Starksboro’s cemeteries. The Commissioner helps oversee maintenance, planning, and public inquiries related to burial plots and cemetery policies. If you care about community heritage and public service, we’d love to hear from you.
