The Town of Starksboro is currently seeking a finance professional with accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll experience to join the municipal office team. The position can include appointment as the Town Treasurer. Hours range from 10-20 hours per week depending on skills and experience. Knowledge of NEMRC software and fund accounting is strongly preferred.
The Town seeks an experienced finance professional to join its team. This part-time position is for 10-20 hours per week depending on experience and need. The position, which may include appointment as Town Treasurer, is primarily responsible for maintaining the town’s cash accounts, investing town money, approving accounts payable and payroll, and collecting and recording tax payments and fees. This team member will play a critical fiduciary role in the financial operation of the town and record-keeping required under state law.
The individual works with the Town Auditors and the Town Clerk, under the supervision of the Selectboard. Position to assist with additional tasks as required by the Selectboard. Position may be called upon to assist the Town Clerk with counter service coverage answering the phone when necessary.
3-5 years of financial administrative oversight experience, or a comparable knowledge base and skill set are required. Occasional weeknight or weekend hours may be required. Experience with NEMRC software is strongly preferred.
