Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Vermont Tax Department has extended the deadline for filing personal income taxes until July 15, 2020. The State is, however, recommending property owners file their Homestead Declaration Filing by the April 15, 2020 deadline to be sure they get their tax benefit on their 2020 property tax bill. A delay in filing your Homestead Declaration will delay your tax benefits if you are eligible for one, and it will result in your property tax bills needing to be adjusted at a later date. To file your Homestead Declaration, go to:
https://tax.vermont.gov/sites/tax/files/documents/HS-122.pdf.

You will find the information required to complete the form on your 2019 property tax bill.

Additional information:
There will be no late filing penalty assessed until after July 15.
