137 registered voters turned out for Starksboro’s Annual Town Meeting on March 3, 2018
All Articles on the Warning passed, with a change to Article 3. The final amount voted was $686,704. There was also a change to Article 9, being up to a one-ton truck instead of 3/4 ton. The Meeting ended around 12:30.
Polls were open on Tues., March 6, 2018 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
415 voters turned out to vote on the town and school district officers, Mt. Abe Bond Vote, Mt. Abe Supervisory District (5 towns) budget, and the Hannaford Career Center budget. These budgets add up to a total of $61,312,352 to be voted by the voters of the five towns.
Results of the votes:
Mt. Abraham Unified School District budget passed – Yes, 1734; No, 1231
Mt. Abraham Union High School Bond vote – failed – No, 1785; Yes, 1196
Patricia Hannaford Technical School District – passed
Town & School District Officers:
There was one contested race for Selectboard, 2 years. Results were:
Nancy Boss – 169 votes
Eric Cota – 188 votes
All other candidates on the ballot were voted into office.
